Groningen is a very interesting city to explore, it is sort of like Amsterdam on a smaller scale. You might well like the less crowded streets of Groningen which still have so much to offer. The city is sort of like a labyrith, but as long as you head for the Church & tallest buildings you will find your way to the center. The northern section of the city is where you will find the redlight district although the coffeeshops are kind of spread thoughout the central area. The best coffeeshop will be on your right as you head on the main shopping road north to the central square. It used to be a cosplay coffeeshop & maybe still is. There is also a comic book museum next to the McDonald's near to the center of town. Be sure to watch out if you are messed up because some of the bridges raise for boats so plan your route accordingly.
